Info
FRKTL ( frac·tal ) is the solo experimental music project of British-Egyptian artist and composer Sarah Badr. A classically trained multi-instrumentalist working with sound synthesis and manipulation, improvisation, live sampling, field recordings and generative processes, she creates emotive and immersive explorations of sound.
Building systems for 3D graphics and the spatialisation of sound, she explores the relationship between form and space in nascent technologies. Her work is inspired and informed by nature — from world creation and biomorphic design, to simulations of complex organic phenomena.
FRKTL’s critically acclaimed album, Excision After Love Collapses, markes nearly a decade of independent, self-published releases. She is also an Oram Award recipient for innovation in sound, music, and related technologies.
